Steelers Capture Super Bowl XL Crown The Steelers claimed their fifth Super Bowl crown with a 21-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks gave the Steelers their best shot, but in the end, it wasn't enough. The Steelers added the elusive "one for the thumb" ring with a trick pass from Antwaan Randle El to Hines Ward. Penalties and mistakes led the Seahawks to a heartbreaking defeat. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger didn't do anything special to win the game, but most importantly, he didn't lose it. Steelers running back Jerome Bettis played in his final game as a Steeler and capped a Hall of Fame career with a Super Bowl trophy. |

Ohio State Tops Early 2006 Poll The 2006 NCAA season may be seven months away, but its never too early to begin looking at 2006. Spring practices kick-off in March and April, but Football.com has you covered until then. How about an early look at 2006? The Ohio State Buckeyes start atop the early 2006 poll, but that can change after spring practices and injuries. The Buckeyes start number one, thanks to a strong offense, led by senior quarterback Troy Smith and receiver Ted Ginn Jr. The Buckeyes defense has some holes to fill, but if they can find players to fit their scheme, then expect the Buckeyes to be playing for a national championship. |

Reggie Bush Tops Early Mock Draft From best to worst. That's likely what USC running back Reggie Bush is facing. The Trojans were one of the best teams in the NCAA for the past three seasons, but Bush is faced with the possibility of going to the worst team in the NFL, the Houston Texans. The Texans need help everywhere, but seem to be leaning in Bush's direction, especially with his ability to be a gamebreaker. Fellow USC standout Matt Leinart is near the top, as well as Texas Longhorns quarterback Vince Young.
